HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley’s medical outreach program provides information about Down syndrome to families, as well as pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, social workers, genetic counselors, midwives and other healthcare providers seeking information.
The primary goal of this program is to ensure that all parents and expectant parents with a possible or actual diagnosis of Down syndrome are given accurate, up-to-date and well balanced information with sensitivity and support.
A search for “Down syndrome” on the internet produces millions of results. Part of our job is to pull together quality information from trusted and credible sources to provide families upon receiving a Down syndrome diagnosis. In result, we have created a set of resources for families and the healthcare professionals caring for them.
DSAV welcomes the opportunity to provide the medical community with accurate and up-to-date information about Down Syndrome. We can provide speakers at conferences, meetings and grand rounds presentations upon request. We want to support the medical community in delivering the best care possible for patients with Down Syndrome and their families.
